After planning our wedding for 18 months COVID landed and made us wait another 18 months! But we've finally tied the knot as of 7th October 2021.

Our original venue went bust but it ended up being a blessing in disguise as we managed to get married in our dream venue - Farnham Castle in Surrey. From our original spring plans we moved to an autumn date, which meant my favourite flower would be in season, and we had beautiful plump dahlias all over the place. 

We were married in the castle chapel by my childhood vicar, who gave a beautiful sermon and added his booming voice to the singing of our favourite hymns, including Bread of Heaven and Amazing Grace. The weather was mild so we had our drinks reception on the lawn overlooking Farnham.

One of our friends designed all our stationary using a watercolour painting I'd done myself for the invitations, and we had it on everything from our menus to our signs and even our cake.

We wanted to get our nerdy interests in but in a classy way, so we had our tables named after pubs and taverns from our favourite books and films, including The Prancing Pony, Mos Eisley Cantina, The Three Broomsticks and Inn At The Crossroads. An old work friend took our photos and her husband manned the photobooth complete with nerdy props and costumes such as lightsabers, Luna Lovegood's Spetcrespecs, and the helmet from Skyrim.

When the sun went down one of the groomsmen filled the Great Hall with the best music and everyone danced the night away.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite in the tower of the castle that night, and ate breakfast with our guests in the library the next morning. 

I don't want our beautiful wedding to sit in the attic collecting dust, I want everything to have a new life and make another couple as happy as we were. I'm going to be selling as much as possible for half the price we paid for, including my shoes, dress and veil, the frames we hung our signs off, and our photo booth props.
